I am working for the Government of Kenya at The National treasury and Planning as an Economist/Statistician, and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. I have over 20 years’ experience in the areas of economic planning and development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, gender mainstreaming, gender statistics, monitoring and evaluation and programme management. Technical expertise in the designing, undertaking and analyzing of quantitative and qualitative data; and conducting evaluations in complex programme designs. Currently, I am writing a PhD entitled gender differential in poverty and the impact of cash transfer on human capital development. The Thesis focuses on gender inequality in household poverty and the impact of cash transfers on schooling and health outcomes for children. The Thesis addresses Goals 1 on poverty, 3 on good health, goal 4 on quality education and 5 on gender equality. Currently, I undertake economic planning and management; coordinate the implementation of the National Monitoring and Evaluation System of the Government of Kenya; promote evaluation culture and practice within the public sector; strengthen capacities for Monitoring and Evaluation of public officers at all levels of government; undertake evaluations to assess government performance; and institutionalization of standards for projects monitoring, evaluating and reporting at national and devolved levels. I have wide experience in statistical analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation having worked with UN agencies and the Government of Kenya.
