I would prefer to call myself as a Development Practitioner since I’ve been working in the various sectors of development mainly in the areas of Monitoring and Evaluation. Currently I am working as a Director of the Department of Project Management and Monitoring of Sri Lanka which is the National Focal Point for Monitoring and Evaluation. I have gained knowledge and experience during last 17 years, on Monitoring and Evaluation of projects and programmes in the sectors of Education, Health, Water Supply and Sanitation, Rural Development. Since 2015 I have been involved in training and capacity building of public sector officials by conducting training programmes on Monitoring and Evaluation. I have completed by basic degree in Biological Sciences with a Second Class (Upper Division). I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies and Public Policy from the Open University of Sri Lanka in 2005 and; Masters Degree in Public Policy from the Flinders University, Australia in 2008. I have participated a number of training and capacity building programmes locally and abroad (in Singapore, Canada, South Africa, Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Hongkong). Currently I am performing a leading role in my office , specially in implementation of evaluation with the launch of the National Evaluation Policy of Sri Lanka in 2018.
