Ms Mary Njoroge has over 20 years’ experience in programme management in donor supported proogrammes. She is currently the programme manager of the UNDP Devolution project and prior to that she was the Programme Specialist with UNDP Amkeni Wakenya Programme. Before joining UNDP she worked with the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) as Program Officer for M&E and Knowledge Management for its projects in sub-Sahara African countries. Prior to joining AGRA Mary worked with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) as Head of M&E, overseeing its sub-Sahara projects portfolio. She has worked with UNDP Kenya before as Project Manager for the Public Service Reform (PSR) Programme from 2007-2010. Preceding the PSR job, Mary had worked as a M&E Specialist for several World Bank supported projects. She has also developed M&E systems for various programs in the East African Region, including The Great Initiative on HIV/AIDS (GLIA) and Rwanda Government. Mary started her career as an Economist with the Kenya Government in different ministries, before exiting to join the donor development space. Mary is currently pursuing a PhD on part time basis at the United States University International University, Africa. She is a holder of Master of Education in Entrepreneurship Development, University of Illinois, USA; Master of Science in Economics, Calcutta University, India and Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology, University of Nairobi. She also holds professional qualifications in project management, monitoring and evaluation, research methodologies and Results Based Management. She is an alumni of Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) - Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the World Bank’s International Programme for Development Evaluation Training Programme (IPDET). Ms Njoroge is a member of the global evaluation group, the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS).
